SCHEDULE TYPE: [Customizable] Weekdays and/or Weekends - with daytime and/or evening shifts available.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-time available immediately, with option to increase to Full-Time if desired
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and professional Home Healthcare Aide (HHA, CNA or STNA) / In-Home Caregiver to join our home health agency in a part-time capacity in and around Carroll County, Ohio. Home Health Aides at HCN are professional, compassionate, and reliable, delivering critical care and living services to our clients which empower their independence and provide comfort, stability, and peace of mind to them and their families.
*NOTE: This position is in Carroll County (near Carrollton, OH) - NOT Carroll, OH.*

- Those seeking full-time hours will have the option to start with part-time hours and first priority to add additional clients/shifts for up to 40 hours per week (if desired).
- CNAs and STNAs with home care experience are highly desirable, but experienced, non-certified home health aides committed to building their caregiver career with our agency are encouraged to apply!

- Mileage reimbursement between multiple clients is provided.

Starting Pay: $15.50-$18.00 per hour
- Wage Rate based on experience, credentials (CHHA, CNA, STNA), positive employment history & references, and overall fit.
The Role: A successful Home Healthcare Aide provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist in their region. You will be assigned to specific clients by the Registered Nurse or other appropriate professionals and perform services for clients as necessary to maintain personal comfort and safety in their home.
Report to: RN Case Manager/Administrator/Director of Nursing
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ year of verifiable experience in home care or caregiving setting is highly desirable.
- Successful completion of a formal certification training program and/or a written skills test and competency evaluation. CNAs and STNAs desired!
- Meet the training and/or certification requirements of the state in which the home health aide services are being provided. This includes specifications of contracted agencies for which services are being provided.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications required (or can be obtained prior to hire date through our agency or accredited third parties).
- Willingness and aptitude to perform light housekeeping in addition to patient care services as needed is required.
- Strong attendance and dependability track record with previous employers.
- Good interpersonal skills and compassion for helping others live their best lives are required.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care, incorporating attention to detail in following instructions, documenting notes, and communicating with our agency.
- Desirable character traits: reliable, honest beyond reproach, professional, compassionate, detail-oriented (in care + documentation), accountable, friendly and accommodating, respectful.
- Be at lease eighteen (18) years of age.
- Valid driver's license/ID and reliable transportation to/from client care locations is mandatory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the therapist.
- Range of motion exercises
- Assistance in ambulation or exercises
Performs personal care activities, including but not limited to:
- Bathing
- Shampooing
- Skin care/nail care
- Oral hygiene
- Shaving
- Dressing
Performs household services essential to health care at home, including but not limited to:
- Meal preparation/feeding
- Laundry
- Light Housekeeping
- Assists in the patient in taking medications under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. This includes opening a container or pill caddy & handing it to the patient, but does not include administration of the medications.
- Knows and follows infection control policies, including proper handwashing techniques.
- Reports any observed or reported changes in the client's condition and/or needs to the Registered Nurse.
- Documents care provided and completes the forms required for the client's records. Completes the appropriate records to document care given and pertinent observations.
- Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following agency guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the Supervisor/Case Manager.
- Demonstrates safe practice in the use of equipment. Does not use equipment until orientation has been provided. Notifies supervisor of educational needs.
- Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team through verbal reports, participation in staff meetings, and team conferences, as requested.
- Treats patients and families with respect. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Accepts and fulfills assignments with the agency. Exercise good judgment in accepting assignments.
- Participates in required in-service programs to meet compliance requirements. Identifies learning needs to agency supervisor.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary
