A respected Cleveland law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its established labor and employment practice. The ideal candidate will have experience representing employers, insurers, or self-insured entities in workers' compensation claims, hearings, and related litigation. Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Ohio Bar in good standing
- 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense or related litigation
- Strong understanding of Ohio workers' compensation laws and administrative procedures
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently
- Strong communication skills and a client-service mindset
- Experience with hearings before the Industrial Commission of Ohio preferred
Responsibilities
- Represent employers and insurers in workers' compensation hearings, appeals, and related proceedings
- Handle all aspects of case management, including investigation, discovery, and litigation strategy
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony
- Advise clients on risk management, claims strategy, and compliance with workers' compensation laws
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and medical professionals
- Collaborate with other attorneys within the firm's labor and employment group to provide comprehensive client service
