The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations and employee performance.
Shift Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities

Assigns tasks to employees to achieve production schedule and daily targets

Oversee employee training schedule, managing training approvals and cross training
-
Follow up on critical tasks from production meetings, tracking priority work orders

Monitors employee’s work habits and makes sure tasks are completed in a timely fashion

Ensures work procedures are accurately followed, verifying process steps, and maintaining product flow
-
Assist engineering with basic preventative and corrective tasks for tooling and equipment
-
Work with team to develop SOP’s and procedures
-
Keeps management apprised of daily operations and provide updates as needed
-
Responds quickly and practically to emergencies or unexpected problems during the shift
-
Provide performance evaluations to employees annually or as otherwise needed
-
Coach, train, and discipline new and existing employees
-
Maintain shop floor presence to address employee needs
-
Manages all breaks and work schedules during the shift to keep production at peak levels
-
Assist with approving employee time, clock in/out, vacation requests, etc
-
Lead by example, contributes to the daily production by working on jobs as needed
-
Keeps work area clean and organized, ensures industry rules and regulations are followed
-
Other duties as required
Shift Supervisor Requirements and Skills
-
5+ Years in a manufacturing production environment

Prior supervisory experience a plus

Language: English (fluent), bilingual preferred (Spanish or Vietnamese a plus)

Ability to train, evaluate, and address employee performance
-
Ability to understand job routers and computer entry of employee transactions

Quality minded individual who pays attention to details but doesn’t lose sight of the big picture
-
Experience with basic equipment maintenance necessary for troubleshooting minor issues
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Reliable transportation, attendance, and punctuality required

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted and work standing for most of the day
-
Applicants must pass a drug screening prior to the hire date
