An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Operating Room expertise to provide skilled perioperative care in a contract role. This position is based in Elyria, OH, with primary assignments in a specialized 7-room inpatient/outpatient surgical unit. Flexibility to float to a larger 26-room main OR with level one trauma capabilities is part of the role when staffing needs arise or operating schedules shift.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with perioperative nursing experience
- Proficient scrub nurse skills with the Da Vinci XI robotic surgery system
- Ability to circulate or scrub in posterior eye surgeries and manage eye trauma cases
- Familiarity with both inpatient and outpatient surgical environments preferred
- Strong adaptability to work across different operating room settings
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments, ensuring aseptic technique
- Collaborate with surgical teams during procedures, circulating or scrubbing as required
- Monitor patient status throughout surgery, responding promptly to changes
- Comply with all regulatory and institutional standards for safety and patient care
- Assist with the maintenance and operation of advanced surgical technology, including robotic systems
