Essential Functions
- Responsible for Surveillance department staffing and training activities for all shifts.
- Directly supervises Surveillance Operators.
- Protects the assets of the company by observing through closed circuit television all areas of the Racino covered by such equipment.
- Observations of cheating, dishonesty or improper activity by customers or employees as well as any violation of rules and regulations of the governmental agencies must by recorded on videotape.
- Conducts investigation of activities that threaten company assets.
- Endorses the business objectives, ethics and values of JACK Entertainment.
- Operates a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system to monitor Racino activities.
- Prepares reports and logs.
- Presents evaluations of any observed illegal activity to the proper departments and makes necessary recommendations.
- Make recommendations and enforce state and federal regulations.
- Adheres to all department, company and State regulations, policies and procedures.
- Consistently demonstrates superior customer service skills to external and internal guests.
- Maintains upbeat, positive attitude, friendly and helpful demeanor, positive energy and enthusiasm from one interaction to the next.
- Is ready to serve and well informed of daily facility hours of operation, promotional programs and any other relevant valuable guest information; builds relationships by greeting guests with a warm, friendly verbal greeting.
- Anticipates needs of the guest and provides fast, flawless service.
- Executes all service programs to assure prioritization of service to very best guests.
- Promotes the company and always projects JACK Entertainment in a positive light to guests. Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to JACK Entertainment and encourages others to do the same.
- Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must have the patience and an observant eye to spot unusual activity on the monitor screen.
- Must have the presence of mind to alert security officers or alarm systems at the outset of a developing crime.
- Must be physically fit with quick reflexes.
- Must have excellent computer literacy and adeptness in operating audio and video surveillance systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with internal and external customers
- Can work in varied shifts.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
- Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.
- Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
- Respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
- Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of related experience and/or training.
- Previous experience in security work in a bank or Racino and/or training certificate in the use of surveillance systems is an advantage.
Required Certification/License
- Must be able to obtain an Ohio Lottery Commission Gaming License
