POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Engineering to lead and manage the Clinical Engineering program at Genesis Healthcare in Zanesville, OH. This is a senior leadership role overseeing all aspects of biomedical equipment management, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and process improvement across a large healthcare system.
This position is ideal for a high-performing Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) leader ready to take ownership of a complex clinical engineering program while mentoring technical professionals and collaborating with hospital leadership to align services with patient care priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- ✅ Provide overall management and supervision of the clinical engineering program at Genesis Healthcare.
- ✅ Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and technical professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- ✅ Ensure effective maintenance, repair, calibration, and lifecycle management of a wide range of medical equipment.
- ✅ Oversee regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to CIHQ, DNV, Joint Commission (JCAHO), and other applicable standards.
- ✅ Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and quality of biomedical services.
- ✅ Collaborate closely with hospital leadership and clinical teams to align biomedical engineering services with patient care priorities and organizational goals.
- ✅ Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and contracts, including purchasing and subcontracting.
- ✅ Support capital planning, project management, and equipment acquisition strategies.
- ✅ Monitor key performance metrics and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction to clinical and administrative stakeholders.
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet ALL of the following qualifications to be considered:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of experience managing biomedical services within a large healthcare system.
- Proven track record collaborating with executive leadership and C-suite stakeholders to align Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) strategies with organizational goals.
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory compliance standards, including CIHQ, DNV, and Joint Commission (JCAHO).
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams, with experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing talent.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Strong business acumen with experience managing departmental budgets and vendor relationships.
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and build lasting partnerships across stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- ✨ Additional certifications in biomedical engineering, HTM, or healthcare management.
- ✨ Experience overseeing large-scale capital projects or equipment installations.
- ✨ Familiarity with financial forecasting, procurement strategies, and risk management within healthcare settings.
POSITION SUMMARY
In this Director-level role, you will assume full operational and fiscal responsibility for the Clinical Engineering department while upholding the mission, vision, and values of Sodexo. You will have the autonomy to shape strategies, improve processes, and ensure technical excellence while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE
- ✔️ Oversight of all clinical engineering staff, including supervisors and technicians.
- ✔️ Ensuring regulatory compliance across all program operations.
- ✔️ Managing vendor relationships, subcontractors, and purchasing processes.
- ✔️ Developing and managing budgets and financial performance.
- ✔️ Providing leadership for organic growth opportunities and process optimization.
- ✔️ Building strong client relationships and acting as the primary liaison with hospital leadership.
