Psychiatrist Nurse Practitioner - Warren, OH

Full-time; 40 hours per week; Day turn primarily; Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all duties and responsibilities of a CNP in accordance to applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Conducts therapy, medication assessments, and crisis response to new and existing clients. Develops individual service plans based upon assessment data and provides therapeutic interventions as necessary including the provision of on-going medication management services.
- Provides direct clinical treatment, including but not limited to Psychiatric Evaluation and Consultation and Medication Management Services. Evaluate, diagnose and provide treatment recommendations.
- Evaluate and prescribe medications when appropriate and maintain a medication record
- Maintain the case record, noting actions and services regarding the case
- Maintains documentation of services including service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, treatment plan reviews, and other required information in compliance with COMPASS and third-party compliance standards.
- Treats clients and team with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values.
- Manages difficult or emotional client situations; responds promptly to client needs; solicits client feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
- Provides psychiatric consultation for the staff at COMPASS regarding appropriate and positive service treatment plans for clients at the Agency.
- Responsible for maintaining a valid and current collaboration agreement with a Psychiatrist and providing a copy of the agreement to COMPASS.
- Maintains DEA license.
- Documented billable activity divided by the total number of hours worked: 20 encounters per day for a 40-hour employee; 15 encounters per day for a 32-hour employee.
- Provides clinical supervision of Nursing Staff (supervising one nurse at the time of creation of this job description), f Applicable.
- Provides leadership, supervision, collaboration and regulatory compliance to COMPASS, which includes Nursing Staff.
- Completes Medical Peer Review with all prescribing contractors, nurse practitioner(s) and other nursing staff.
- Assists staff in establishing medically appropriate practices and protocols as well as providing training to staff.
- Reviews and provide consultation of medical related policies, procedures and/or practices for COMPASS.
Qualifications:
- Certified Nurse Practitioner in the State of Ohio in the specialization of psychiatry
- Extensive knowledge of the etiology of serious mental illness and substance abuse disorders and their treatment by a variety of appropriate therapeutic interventions including psychopharmacology; nursing practice and medical evaluation, physical diseases and their treatment; community resources and networking techniques; and of psychiatric and medical emergency stabilization.
- CNP is required to have the following skills: clinical interview methods; individual, family, and group counseling methods; knowledge and techniques for facilitating personality/behavior change; capacity for collecting, organizing, and reporting data in order to reach valid clinical conclusions; ability to develop and implement treatment plans; skills in crisis intervention and emergency services; specialized knowledge of the mental health field; knowledge of the implementation of current applicable diagnostic standards.

Miscellaneous requirements: Criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation); pre-employment drug screen, clear driving record and TB test. Have the ability to maintain the required license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio. Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability. Will maintain and complete all Agency internal and external accreditation required trainings to ensure person and family centered, quality and effective service delivery and health and safety standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills, highly organized and dependable. Work well independently and in a team environment. Ability to multi-task. Maintain a high degree of professionalism and integrity at all times with program directors and staff. Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain clinically effective relationships with clients, staff and significant others and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
