Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT), and 1+ year of Cath Lab experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech RN with a strong background in imaging and catheterization lab procedures. This contract role is suited for professionals with a minimum of two years experience in Cath Lab and IR settings, with electrophysiology (EP) experience considered a valuable addition.
Responsibilities include assisting physicians during minimally invasive, imaging-guided procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, and thrombolysis. You will perform diagnostic imaging on the heart and blood vessels, prepare patients for the procedures, and provide patient education. Independent operation of X-ray equipment, particularly IV venograms before pacemaker and ICD insertions, will be required. The role also involves assisting with placing closure devices, demanding proficiency in the use of X-ray technology under Ohio radiologic licensure.
Typical workload involves approximately three labs and 10-12 outpatient procedures daily. Equipment utilized includes Phillips X-Ray systems and Merge Hemo software for procedure charting.
Schedule and Work Environment:
- Variable morning shifts Monday through Friday (start times at 7 a.m. or 8 a.m.)
- Full-time, 40 hours per week (options for five 8-hour or four 10-hour shifts)
- On-call rotation every 3 to 4 days during weekdays and every 3rd to 4th weekend (no regular weekend or holiday work unless on call)
- Potential floating to IR/EP labs if dually trained
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years Cath Lab and IR experience; EP experience a plus
- BLS and ARRT certification required; RCIS certification not accepted
- Ohio Radiologic license mandatory
- Ability to independently operate X-ray equipment proficiently
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Merge Hemo and MediTech
- Candidates must be located over 50 miles away and not former staff from the same health system
