Job DescriptionMIG/TIG Fabrication Welder – Aluminum & Steel

Join Tracom, a division of Buyers Products, where work-truck components are built to last. As a welder on our aluminum and steel teams, you’ll put your craft to work on high‑quality products using some of the most advanced fabrication technology in the industry.

A day on the floor

You clock in, review your prints and work order, and map out the sequence: prep, fit, tack, weld, inspect. You set up for MIG on a steel assembly before switching to TIG for a precise aluminum weld. Between passes, you check for defects, verify dimensions with straightedges and templates, and make adjustments to ensure every piece hits spec. When repairs come through, you build up worn surfaces and use burning equipment to cut, dismantle, or size materials. Safety, quality, and craftsmanship guide every move.

What you’ll handle

  • Execute MIG and TIG welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
  • Weld components made from aluminum, stainless, cast iron, and additional alloys
  • Read instructions, blueprints, and work orders; plan tools, materials, and procedures
  • Fabricate by cutting, burning, fitting, and welding various metals
  • Repair and rebuild components using appropriate processes and equipment
  • Prepare joints and surfaces; assemble and tack prior to final welding
  • Use burning equipment to cut to size/shape and to dismantle assemblies
  • Adhere to safety procedures and perform related duties as assigned

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational welding certificate preferred
  • Proficiency with wire-feed welding and strong understanding of welding techniques
  • Experience with steel and aluminum preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude, including familiarity with hydraulics
  • Blueprint reading proficiency

Physical demands & work environment

  • Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods
  • Mobility and dexterity around operating machinery and powered industrial equipment
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Operate power tools and vibrating equipment
  • On-site work to support manufacturing requirements

How we hire

All candidates complete a written and hands-on weld test prior to an offer. Applicants who demonstrate skill, a positive attitude, and strong aptitude may receive a direct offer.

What you’ll get

  • Employer-contributed Profit Sharing (up to 15% max)
  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off and Paid Vacation
  • Parental Leave
  • Opportunities for advancement
