An opportunity is available for an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide skilled nursing care on a rotating day/night schedule. This contract role is ideal for professionals with strong clinical expertise and a commitment to delivering quality patient care within a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, ensuring monitoring and timely response to cardiac rhythms.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to implement and update individualized patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and interventions using electronic systems.
  • Successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation.
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and policies, including working some holidays as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Ohio nursing license or compact state license.
  • Minimum of 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience; travel experience acceptable if within specialty.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in rhythm recognition and medication administration.
  • Ability to work 3x12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule: 7pm-7:30am and 7am-7:30pm.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to function well under pressure.

Location:This position is based in Mentor, Ohio, a vibrant community known for its beautiful Lake Erie shoreline, recreational parks, and welcoming neighborhoods. Residents enjoy a mix of urban conveniences and natural attractions, offering a balanced work-life environment.

Schedule:

  • Rotating shifts, 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (day and night rotations).
  • Night shifts primarily from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.
  • Flexibility required to meet operational needs, with efforts made to respect shift preferences.
