A Maintenance Technician ensures smooth and efficient operation of facilities and equipment by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making repairs, often focusing on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Regularly inspects and maintains building systems and equipment (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Follows a maintenance schedule to ensure routine tasks are completed.
- Identifies potential problems and implements preventative measures.
- Repairs:
- Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other issues.
- Performs a wide range of repair tasks, including fixing locks, leaky taps, and broken windows.
- Troubleshoots and identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.
- Inspections:
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems for stability and quality.
- Confirms safety standards and identifies potential hazards.
- Maintains records of inspections and repairs.
- Facility Upkeep:
- Performs general cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Manages inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Other Duties:
- May assist with painting, floor cleaning, or other tasks as needed.
- Communicates with supervisors and other departments about maintenance needs.
- Follows safety procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain records.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and climbing.
- Understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a maintenance technician, or similar position, in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods
