Company Profile:
Promerus is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Bakelite, a pioneer in plastics with over 6,000 employees and $2B in annual sales. Promerus is involved in the development of a novel platform of polymers based on cyclic olefins that are polymerized using a propriety class of organometallic catalysts. Application areas include the semiconductor, optoelectronic and electronic packaging markets. Ongoing development and commercial activities with multiple Fortune 500 companies in the micro-electronics and semi-conductor industries is the primary business focus.
General Purpose:
Assists in the development of processes and production of materials from gram through kilogram scale. Completes project assignments as directed by supervision.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities that are requirements in order to perform the job:
- Conducts laboratory experiments to develop new process technology
- Operates equipment per SOP guidelines
- Maintains equipment in good working condition
- Reviews and edits batch data sheets and work instructions provided by process engineers
- Completes batch data records and/or accurately records experimental results throughout process
- Submits samples to QC for analyses; completes in-process analysis of samples
- Handles accumulation of hazardous waste generated from processes run
- Manages inventory of waste containers to ensure compliance
- Demonstrates creativity in solving problems
- Demonstrates commitment, dependability and respect with regular attendance and punctuality
Supportive Functions:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions based on business needs:
- Orders supplies needed to complete work processes
- Documents equipment and material inventories
- Maintains good housekeeping and resolves any identified safety issues in all work areas
- Maintains awareness of how the position supports the Quality Management System, and participates in quality related activities such as audits and quality improvement teams as necessary
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Education/Experience Guidelines:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- 2-4 years of related experience
