Clinical Manager Job Description

Position Summary:
The Clinical Manager oversees day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring smooth service delivery, effective coordination among team members, and high-quality care for clients. This role involves developing strategies to address system challenges, coaching staff, and enhancing the operational and therapeutic environment to support client recovery.

Minimum Licensure Required to Apply:

LCDC III or LSW

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Operations Management
    • Manage day-to-day contingencies as they arise, coordinating with the Clinical Supervisor and relevant team members to ensure seamless operations.
    • Act as a point of contact for resolving urgent operational challenges and ensuring timely communication with all stakeholders.
  2. System Improvement
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance service delivery for clients, addressing issues such as case management challenges and housing concerns.
    • Collaborate with the Clinical Supervisor to assess and adjust systems to meet evolving client needs effectively.
  3. Staff Development and Coaching
    • Work with the Clinical Supervisor to identify coaching and training needs within the clinical team.
    • Assist in the development of leadership opportunities for house managers and client mentors to strengthen the supportive environment outside of the standard clinical day.
  4. Operational and Maintenance Coordination
    • Identify operational needs related to buildings, vehicles, and housing, and communicate these needs to the appropriate staff for timely resolution.
    • Ensure that all facilities and equipment are maintained to support a safe and therapeutic environment.
  5. Referrals and Coordination of Care:
    • Identify clients who may require referrals to higher levels of care or specialized services.
    • Facilitate referrals and coordinate with external providers to ensure seamless transitions for clients.
    • Maintain a network of referral partners and resources to support diverse client needs.5A. Crisis Management:
      • Address client crises, including relapse, interpersonal conflicts, and other urgent situations, with professionalism and empathy.
      • Work primarily with the clinical supervisor to develop and implement crisis intervention protocols in collaboration with the treatment team.
      • Support staff in managing crises effectively and maintaining a safe environment for clients and employees.
  1. Employee Performance and Development:
    • Develop and implement corrective action plans for case managers who are underperforming to improve job performance and accountability.
    • Evaluate case management-based employee skills and strengths to determine how to improve upon or best use available skill sets.
    • Propose and facilitate alternative uses for employees, including role adjustments or transfers, to maximize their contributions and job satisfaction.
