Job DescriptionAs a Screw Machine Setup Operator, you will set up, adjust, and operate Acme and Davenport screw machines to produce high-quality precision parts. This role combines hands-on machine operation with mechanical problem-solving and quality-focused decision-making. You’ll be responsible for keeping machines running efficiently while ensuring parts meet exact specifications. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with machinery and takes pride in craftsmanship.Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Acme and Davenport screw machines, including tooling changes and adjustments
• Load bar stock, monitor fluid levels, and remove chips to maintain optimal machine performance
• Sharpen and adjust tools to ensure consistent part quality and specification compliance
• Troubleshoot machine issues and assist with routine maintenance as needed
• Support and train other operators on machine setup, operation, and best practices

Qualifications and Requirements

• Mechanical background such as machine maintenance, mechanic work, automotive repair, or trade school training
• Ability to perform standard math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) for machine setup and adjustments
• Strong mechanical aptitude with comfort using tools and machinery
• Problem-solving and reasoning skills to identify issues and implement solutions
• Willingness to collaborate and assist others in a team-based manufacturing environment
