Funeral Director in Charge Requirements & Qualifications


  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in funeral services.
  • Valid Funeral Directors’ License in Ohio and/or Michigan, or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • Completion of a two-year college degree or specialized course of study.
  • Passing both sections of the National Board Exam (NBE) as per state requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with management and staff.


Funeral Director in Charge Preferred Background & Skills


  • Experience in administrative and operational management within the funeral industry.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations and ethical standards in funeral services.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of licensed professionals.

  • Engage in community outreach and marketing activities to promote the funeral home.
