  • Start: As Soon As Possible
  • Shift/Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM (2nd shift, rotating Saturday)
  • Pay Rate: $28.66 – $32.88/hr

Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs complex laboratory analyses to support diagnostic testing and patient care. This role is responsible for executing high-quality, accurate testing procedures while ensuring compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and internal quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to laboratory safety and excellence.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform specimen handling, processing, testing, and result reporting per laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all patient results and proficiency testing samples.
  • Conduct analyses using approved laboratory testing procedures and ensure quality control accuracy.
  • Review, validate, and release test results in compliance with lab protocols.
  • Adhere to quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) policies, documenting all calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions.
  • Identify and correct issues affecting test performance or immediately notify a supervisor.
  • Report STAT and critical results promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain clean, organized laboratory conditions, ensuring all reagents and test kits are properly labeled and tracked.
  • Participate in training, continuing education, and safety programs.
  • Support inspection readiness and assist with government or regulatory audits as needed.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and demonstrate strong professionalism in all interactions.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high-complexity testing.
  • Solid understanding of laboratory testing principles, QA/QC practices, and multi-system workflows.
  • Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems (LIS).

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology preferred; OR
  • Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; OR
  • Qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (March 14, 1990).
  • National and/or State licensure required (ASCP or AMT certification preferred).
  • Foreign-educated candidates must provide credential evaluation from IERF; U.S. candidates must submit original transcripts.
