Job Description
The Welder job involves using heat and specialized equipment to join metal components, cut and shape metal, and repair metal structures. They interpret blueprints, select appropriate materials and techniques, and ensure the quality and safety of their work.
Responsibilities:
- Read & interpret blueprints
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding, including cleaning, cutting, and shaping materials according to specifications
- Choose appropriate welding processes (like MIG, TIG, or Stick welding) and equipment based on the materials and project requirements
- Use various welding techniques to join metal parts, fill gaps, and repair damaged metal
- Inspect their work to ensure welds are strong, durable, and meet quality standards
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years recent welding experience
- Proficiency in different welding techniques, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication.
- Understanding of mechanical principles and how different metal components interact
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring precise welds and meeting strict specifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials
- Problem-Solving Skills: Identifying and resolving welding issues during projects
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening & background check
