Senior Director of Enterprise Applications, Higher Education
Location: Southwest of Cleveland, Ohio

Job Summary

Join one of the nation’s most respected liberal arts colleges at a defining moment in its digital evolution. The institution is investing heavily in technology modernization — and you’ll be at the center of it.

As the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications, you’ll lead the multi-year transformation from Ellucian Banner to Workday, shaping how technology empowers every student, faculty member, and staff colleague for years to come.

This isn’t just an implementation. It’s a reinvention of systems, processes, and culture. You’ll work side-by-side with forward-thinking campus leaders who see technology as a strategic enabler, not just infrastructure.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you’ll guide the planning, execution, and support of a modern cloud ERP ecosystem. You’ll bring both vision and hands-on expertise, building bridges across the institution and leading a talented team of 12 IT professionals who share a spirit of collaboration and service.

You’ll serve as a trusted advisor and translator between technical and non-technical audiences helping the college use Workday and other systems to operate smarter, more efficiently, and more equitably.

Key Responsibilities

ERP Transformation & Strategy

  • Lead the college’s 5-year ERP modernization journey from go-live to long-term optimization.
  • Define the Workday roadmap to enhance student, academic, and administrative experiences.

Digital Process Innovation

  • Partner across campus to streamline workflows and elevate the user experience.
  • Champion continuous improvement and leverage automation wherever it adds value.

Change Leadership & Adoption

  • Build excitement, alignment, and readiness for digital transformation.
  • Design communication, training, and engagement strategies that foster adoption.

Cloud Architecture & Integration

  • Oversee the Workday ecosystem and related platforms using modern iPaaS tools.
  • Ensure strong cybersecurity, compliance, and data governance in partnership with Information Security.

Team & Vendor Leadership

  • Mentor a talented applications team, fostering growth, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Lead vendor relationships, performance management, and contract negotiations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience in higher education.
  • Direct experience with Workday implementation or administration (required).
  • Background in Ellucian Banner or similar legacy ERP systems preferred.
  • Proven success driving organizational change and digital transformation.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Why This Role Stands Out

  1. Institutional Backing: Leadership support and long-term investment in IT modernization.
  2. Visible Impact: Every improvement touches the full student and employee experience.
  3. Collaborative Culture: Join a community that values curiosity, learning, and inclusion.

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position includes an excellent benefits package.
