Job Description

As a Security Officer - Industrial Roving Patrol in Lockbourne, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge checks, document activity using a computer and/or tablet, and deliver strong customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout manufacturing and industrial buildings, yards, parking areas, and along the perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access at vehicle and/or employee entry points by checking identification, issuing visitor badges, and directing visitors to approved areas per site procedures.
  • Monitor access control systems, intrusion alarms, and/or CCTV where assigned, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by observing truck check-in, verifying driver identification and/or appointments, and documenting trailer numbers, seal numbers, and dock assignments as required.
  • Help to deter theft, trespass, and/or other unauthorized activity through a visible presence and timely reporting.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, including patrol logs, unusual activity reports, and management notifications.
  • Communicate with site contacts, contractors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns and site policy questions.
  • Participate in emergency response activities such as fire alarms, medical calls, severe weather, and facility evacuations, and coordinate with first responders as directed.
  • Observe for and promptly report hazards, damaged doors or fencing, unsecured equipment, and/or conditions that could impact facility operations.
  • Operate radios, phones, and other post equipment, maintaining professional communication and accurate information sharing.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to employees, visitors, and drivers while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Enforce site rules regarding restricted areas, parking, smoking locations, and/or prohibited items through courteous communication and escalation per procedure.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by site leadership and/or Allied Universal management in accordance with post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer Service Experience - preferred.
  • Guard Card/License - preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet - preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience - preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
