Job Summary

BestCare Consultants is looking for an experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of hands-on experience in medical billing and coding, exceptional attention to detail, strong data entry skills, and excellent communication abilities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate claims submission, timely reimbursement, and compliance with all payer and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures.

• Review and process insurance claims, denials, and adjustments.

• Ensure all billing is compliant with payer rules and federal regulations.

• Verify patient insurance and update records accurately.

• Perform timely follow-up on unpaid or denied claims.

• Enter and maintain data within billing systems and EHR platforms.

• Communicate with healthcare providers, payers, and patients to resolve billing issues.

• Prepare reports and assist in account reconciliation when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5–7 years in medical billing and coding (required).

• Certification: CPC, CCS, or equivalent (preferred).

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree a plus).

• Skills:

  • Proficient in billing software and EHR systems (e.g., Kareo, Athena, Epic).

  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid understanding of payer requirements and healthcare reimbursement processes.

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
