Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer specializing in HVAC systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining control systems for HVAC and automation projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of building systems through advanced control strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems for HVAC and automation applications.
- Implement and configure protocols such as BACnet, Lonworks, and Modbus for interoperability.
- Program Building Automation System (BAS) software for HVAC controls (e.g. Tridium, Distech)
- Configure, integrate and troubleshooting HVAC controls to optimize performance and reliability.
- Work closely with clients and project teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Create and review technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and system narratives.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for system design and layout planning.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in control engineering and building automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineering, specifically with HVAC control systems.
- Strong knowledge of control systems and programming languages like BACnet, Lonworks, or Modbus.
- Experience programming Building Automation System software (e.g. Tridium, Distech, Honeywell, or Johnson Controls)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for system design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Niagara N4 Certification a plus!
