REPORT TO: Quality Manager

PURPOSE

Perform duties to assure dimensional integrity of new and existing parts and maintains a variety of related reports and records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Set-up and operate micro-vu and other measuring equipment required to perform dimensional inspection; process and maintain initial sample inspection reports and material certification requests.

Audit and enter data regarding revision levels of active parts and prints.

Review drawings to ensure comprehension of dimensional requirements.

Knowledge of APQP process as well as participate in APQP meetings.

Evaluate SPC areas regarding statistics; perform capability studies and interpret histogram distribution.

Prepare submission packets including capability studies, process flow diagrams, control plans, gage repeatability and reliability studies, failure mode effectiveness reports as required.

Interface and maintain favorable relations with customers in relation to part dimensions or specifications.

Read and interpret blueprints; audit and enter data regarding revision levels of active parts and prints.

Complete daily report of work activities.

Inspection of incoming inserts and components.

Maintain Metrology schedule.

Perform monthly Dock Audits

Utilize Cuick Trac as well as pass background check for use

Observe all safety & health rules prescribed by the company; wear safety equipment as required.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS OR CREDENTIALS:

  • Two years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Skilled at staying organized, multitasking, and planning workload.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Experience working for a manufacturer of elastomeric materials (preferred).
  • Associates Degree (preferred).
  • Experience supervising and/or training other employees (preferred).

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to position or move, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time, up to and exceeding 8 hours.
