Looking for a familia?
At LUZCO, we’re more than an engineering firm. We’re a tight-knit team of people who care deeply about what we do and who we work with. As an award-winning, woman-owned, minority-owned boutique engineering firm, we’ve built a reputation for delivering world-class work while creating a culture that feels like home. We’re proud to be a place where you can bring your authentic self to work every day and feel supported doing it.
We’re proud to be recognized as a 2025 Best Place to Work in St. Louis, a reflection of our people-first mindset and our belief that work should be both challenging and fulfilling. Our mission is simple: to provide innovative engineering solutions while building genuine, lasting connections with our clients and each other.

-
A culture that gives back: We’re passionate about our communities. Every year, we dedicate paid time off for volunteering and encourage our team to use their talents to make a difference whether that’s mentoring students, serving local nonprofits, or getting hands-on in community projects.
-
A workplace that feels like you: We keep things relaxed and welcoming. Expect weekly happy hours, team lunches, a stocked kitchen, dogs in the office, and a casual dress code. It’s a space where you can be yourself and do your best work.
The Role
Join our team as a Constructability and Outage Sequencer, supporting project management by developing and coordinating outage sequence plans for substations and transmission lines. This role involves collaborating with internal teams, producing accurate outage sequence documentation, and ensuring feasibility from planning through construction completion. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently.

- Use Energy Delivery Outage Application (EDOA), Energy Management System (EMS), Geographic Information System applications (GIS), Outage Planning and Project Management (OPPM) software, Cascade, and Microsoft Office to plan and track outages.
- Validate clearance points and assess constructability during site walk-downs.
- Update outage documents to reflect changes in dates, scope, or client requirements.
- Ensure schedules are met and deliverables are completed on time.
- Lead and contribute to meetings, providing input on construction methods and alternative solutions.
- Maintain compliance with Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland Interconnection (PJM) outage coordination and client standards.
- Build relationships with clients and external personnel, supporting overall project success.
- Flexibility to travel and be on-site as needed.
What You’ll Bring to the Familia:
Essentials to Succeed:
- Associate’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Two to four years of field experience in substations or transmission lines preferred.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, laptops, mobile devices, and other technology required for job responsibilities.
- Strong leadership, management, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight and stay at project sites, occasionally multiple days per week or on weekends; subject to call-outs and overtime as needed.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to visit construction sites.
