About the Team

Constellation Schools are seeking a highly-qualified Special Education Coach in Cleveland, Ohio. The Special Education Coach supports teachers and staff in implementing effective instructional practices for students with disabilities. This position is responsible for providing professional development, instructional coaching, and technical assistance to ensure compliance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and support inclusive education practices.

About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities of the Special Education Coach include:

  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Model best practices for instruction, behavior management, and data collection in special education settings.
  • Provide job-embedded coaching and feedback to educators to improve instructional quality.
  • Support teachers in understanding and implementing accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of professional development sessions focused on special education compliance and effective practices.
  • Analyze student data to inform instruction and support progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to ensure alignment of special education practiceswith school goals.
  • Maintain accurate special education rosters and track critical deadlines related to IEP development, evaluations, and service delivery.
  • Serve as an active member of the IEP Compliance Committee and assist in monitoring and supporting district-wide compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.
  • Stay current with federal and state regulations, district policies, and research-based instructional strategies.
  • Provide guidance on inclusion, co-teaching models, and behavior intervention plans.
  • Serve as a liaison between special education staff and administrators to promote effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Superintendent Designee

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid teaching license with a Special Education endorsement
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience in a special education setting
  • Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and instructional strategies for students with disabilities

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field
  • Experience in instructional coaching or mentoring teachers
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
