Overview:
Seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements, support new product introduction, and optimize production operations. This role combines floor-level engagement with strategic planning and documentation to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Process Support:
- Recommend, test, and implement new equipment and software.
- Provide on-site support and training for production teams.
- Develop and update process maps and specifications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
- Collaborate with management on production planning and capabilities.
- Apply statistical tools to forecast manufacturing needs.
Tooling & Quality Assurance:
- Recommend tooling and fixtures for various assembly and coating processes.
- Ensure process and product quality through validation and data analysis.
- Maintain process databases and support data entry programming.
New Product Introduction:
- Interpret technical drawings and specs to guide production.
- Develop routers, instructions, and time standards in ERP systems.
- Improve methods and workflows for new and existing products.
- Estimate production times, labor needs, and costs.
- Partner with design and supply chain teams to align on materials, tooling, and quality standards.
Process Optimization:
- Identify and implement improvements using SPC data, defect tracking, and team feedback.
- Support corrective action efforts and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) discussions.
- Manage part databases to reduce redundancies and improve sourcing.
- Optimize layouts, workflows, and space usage for efficiency gains.
Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of lean principles, tooling, ERP systems, and technical documentation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, QA, and suppliers.
