A specialized nursing opportunity is available to provide dedicated 1:1 care for a pediatric student within an elementary school setting in Pickerington, OH. This role requires a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with extensive pediatric expertise to support a 5th-grade student with complex medical needs. The position operates part-time, one day per week (Tuesdays), with travel to and from school by bus included.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care including tracheostomy management and suctioning (oral and trach)
- Administer tube feeding, water bolus, and medication via G-tube
- Assist with mobility and positioning using AFO splints (hand and leg), wheelchair, and Hoyer lift
- Provide continence care and monitor vital signs including oxygen saturation with a pulse oximeter
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe, supportive environment for the student
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate care needs effectively
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Ohio RN licensure required
- Strong pediatric nursing background with critical care experience
- Familiarity with tracheostomy care, suctioning, and feeding tube management
- Comfortable with assistive devices such as AFO splints, wheelchairs, and Hoyer lifts
- Ability to work independently with one student in a school setting
- Flexibility to start in December with an assignment through May 22, 2026 (start date may adjust based on need)
Location: Pickerington, Ohio (Elementary School)
Schedule: Part time, Tuesdays (including bus transportation to/from school)
Caseload: One 5th-grade student requiring 1:1 nursing support
