Machine Operator (Extrusion)
$1000 sign on bonus once hired perm!
Location: Walton Hills, OH
Shift: Nights – 10 PM to 10 AM (includes Monday morning 4-hour shift)
Pay: $19–$22/hour (based on experience) + $0.75 shift differential + Bonus every 6 months
Job Type: Full-Time
Summary
Set up and operate extrusion lines to produce plastic sheets that meet customer specifications and dimensions according to work orders.
Responsibilities
- Start up, set up, operate, and tend extrusion machines
- Load materials and adjust feed mechanisms
- Monitor machine operations and gauges for defects or malfunctions
- Stop machines when processes are complete or issues arise
- Complete work orders and production reports accurately
- Maintain alertness and follow safety procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements
- Tow motor driving experience
- Ability to read tape measure and specifications
- Knowledge of measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, dial indicator)
- Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs (with assist for heavier loads)
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting
- Previous extrusion experience preferred
- 3+ years as a machine operator (plastic environment preferred)
- High school diploma/GED required
- Forklift certification and basic computer skills a plus
Physical Demands
- Regular lifting and moving up to 50 lbs
- Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crawling
- Requires use of protective gear and adherence to safety precautions
- May work in areas with extreme temperatures or noise
