Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT / CRT)
Location: Cleveland, OH
Duration: 12 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (18:30 – 07:00); weekends as needed
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory disorders in a hospital setting.
- Administer and monitor oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and mechanical ventilation.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures, including arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
- Set up, operate, and maintain ventilators and other respiratory therapy equipment.
- Assess patients, document findings, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans.
- Respond to emergency situations such as code blues and rapid response calls.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment use.
- Float to other Cleveland Clinic facilities as needed to support patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all infection control and hospital safety protocols.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) in an acute care setting.
- Proficient in managing both invasive and non-invasive ventilation systems.
- Strong understanding of respiratory care procedures, oxygen delivery systems, and emergency response techniques.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environments.
Education & Certifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) Certification – Required (RRT or CRT accepted).
- Active Ohio Respiratory Care Practitioner License – Required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required.
