Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT / CRT)
Location: Cleveland, OH
Duration: 12 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (18:30 – 07:00); weekends as needed

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory disorders in a hospital setting.
  • Administer and monitor oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and mechanical ventilation.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures, including arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain ventilators and other respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Assess patients, document findings, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans.
  • Respond to emergency situations such as code blues and rapid response calls.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment use.
  • Float to other Cleveland Clinic facilities as needed to support patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with all infection control and hospital safety protocols.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) in an acute care setting.
  • Proficient in managing both invasive and non-invasive ventilation systems.
  • Strong understanding of respiratory care procedures, oxygen delivery systems, and emergency response techniques.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environments.

Education & Certifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) Certification – Required (RRT or CRT accepted).
  • Active Ohio Respiratory Care Practitioner License – Required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required.
