This role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to balance priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and agreements with precision.
  • Create tables of authorities and contents for briefs and other legal filings.
  • Assist with corporate and transactional documentation, including contract preparation, closing binders, and entity filings.
  • Schedule and coordinate depositions, court appearances, client meetings, and other attorney events.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, arrange travel, and manage deadlines.
  • Open new matters, conduct conflict checks, and maintain client files.
  • Process billing, enter time, prepare expense reports, and assist with special projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with administrative support staff and contribute to firm-wide initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of legal secretary/assistant experience in a law firm; experience supporting both litigation and corporate/transactional practices preferred.
  • Proficiency in court filing procedures and corporate filing requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including document formatting, tables, and styles; proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and PDF editing tools.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills with an emphasis on grammar and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different attorney work styles and practice needs.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team approach.
