Job DescriptionMBS is hiring a Quality Weld Inspector in Fairfield, OH. This is a direct hire opportunity, full-time position.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTIONPRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspections include first piece and full container inspections IAW the applicable weld code and defined criteria.
- This includes documenting results ERP system, and communicating inspection results in a complete, clear and concise manner.
- Actively participate in corrective action process
- Assist Manufacturing associates interpreting drawings, instructions and WPS’s to provide an understanding of the requirements of each specific job
- Support safety requirements, 5S initiatives, and consistently maintain good housekeeping duties.
- Participate in the Material Review Board to determine disposition when required for welding issues.
- Update quality documentation in Plex (ERP) as non-conformances and issues arise
REQUIREMENTS
- One year of experience in weld inspection is required.
- Proficient at reading weld symbols and blue-print drawings
- Experience with D1.1
- Must be be familiar with using measuring equipment (i.e. fillet gages, calipers, height gages, etc.)
- Understand both Metric and English units
- Proficient in GD&T preferred
- Ground combat vehicle welding code for aluminum and steel, preferred
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
- Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
- Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Communication skills.
