Ohio Truck Sales is seeking a driven and experienced Body Shop Supervisor to lead the cosmetic operations of our semi-truck reconditioning facility. This role is responsible for overseeing service writing, scheduling, and team development while maintaining the highest standards of quality. The Cosmetic Supervisor plays a critical role in mentoring body technicians on proper repair methods, ensuring consistent, top-tier reconditioning. As a key department leader, this individual will collaborate closely with other teams to keep reconditioning on track and help the company achieve its overall monthly goals.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions
- Lead daily operations of the Cosmetic Department, ensuring efficiency and quality of work.
- Oversee work order process to capture all necessary repairs and create accurate orders.
- Manage Quality Control and hold the team accountable to OTS standards.
- Manage flow, scheduling and maintenance of 45’ paint booth
- Set and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals to meet quotas.
- Conduct daily morning huddles and maintain regular communication with the Reconditioning Manager
- Train, coach, and counsel employees to improve performance to uphold quality and standard repair times.
- Develop onboarding and training plans for new associates.
- Resolve attendance issues, conflicts, and performance problems promptly.
- Drive continuous improvement of body work and painting processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Communicate issues that impact production or workflow to leadership immediately.
- Perform other assigned duties or projects related to department needs.
- Performs other job-related duties assigned.
Required Education, Skills & Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of Body Shop experience
- Minimum of 2 or more years of supervisory or leadership role experience needed
Physical demands include:
- Must be able to lift and carry 50+ pounds
- Constant hand, fingers, and arm use
- Must be able to climb up and down a ladder
- Ability to continuously stand or walk
- Ability to bend, squat, and lift frequently
- Must be able to push and pull objects weighing 50+ pounds
