A management company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Property Accountant to handle all aspects of accounting for the company. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain company files and databases using property management and accounting software
- Balance cash receipts, perform account reconciliations, process invoices, prepare journal entries, and ensure all financial records are complete and accurate
- Compile, analyze, and report financial data, participate in the budgeting process, and close out month-end and year-end periods
- Assist with tax preparation, audits, and identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Act as a point of contact between internal departments and accounting
- Serve as a liaison between accounting and external parties including clients and vendors
- Ensure that company bills are paid and debts are collected
- Perform other duties and assist with special projects
Job Qualifications:
- Must have an Associates degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
- Must have previous bookkeeping, management, or relevant field experience
- Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Must be proficient using Yardi Voyager version 7s or version 8 and Microsoft Office with accurate data entry skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, analytical, problem-solving, and math skills is required
- Must have a high level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency, especially when multitasking
- Must have the ability to work in accordance with established standards and procedures and maintain confidentiality at all times
