ComResource is looking for a Data Engineer.
We need someone to assist in calculating FDIC insurance at the customer and bank levels using traditional and modern data engineering tools. This role requires a technical professional who can also act as a subject matter expert (SME) for business logic around FDIC 370.
Responsibilities:
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain data management systems.
- Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes.
- Ensure systems meet both business requirements and industry standards.
- Integrate modern data technologies into existing data structures.
- Develop processes for data mining, modeling, and production.
- Create custom software components and analytics applications.
- Research and propose new uses for existing data.
- Employ a variety of tools and languages to connect systems.
- Collaborate with data architects, IT, and data scientists to achieve project goals.
- Implement and update disaster recovery procedures.
- Recommend ongoing improvements for data reliability and quality.
Essentials:
- Technical degree or relevant work experience.
- Strong SQL skills—this is a SQL-heavy role.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB).
- Understanding of backend programming (e.g., Java, J2EE).
- Analytical mindset with strong communication skills.
- Business logic understanding for FDIC 370 compliance.
- Driven, curious, and positive attitude.
Desired:
- Experience with IBM DB2 and DataStage.
- Familiarity with modern data tools like Snowflake and DBT.
