Overview:
We’re looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This individual will play a key role in ensuring high-quality production and maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis) according to blueprints and part specifications.
- Load raw materials, install tooling, and adjust machine offsets to maintain tight tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and ensure equipment remains in good working condition.
- Edit G-code programs as needed to improve performance or correct errors.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure part accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following company safety standards.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience (mills and/or lathes).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and part drawings.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak controls preferred.
- Strong understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining best practices.
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.).
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or trade school training preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CNC programming (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or similar).
- Knowledge of setup sheets, job routers, and quality documentation.
- Experience with tight-tolerance or high-precision components.
- Background in aerospace, defense, automotive, or industrial manufacturing environments.
