Electrical MEP Designer (AutoCAD)

Position Overview: We are seeking an Electrical Designer or Electrical AutoCAD technician to join our dynamic team. As a member of the design team, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to numerous notable projects from conception through completion. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow engineers and architectural clients and develop detailed drawings, innovative designs, and comprehensive project specifications. You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to produce high-quality electrical construction documents for commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical system designs for commercial buildings, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, hospitality venues, and multi-family residential properties.
- Produce construction drawings, specifications, and details using AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, Visual Lighting Design, and other industry-standard software.
- Interpret and apply industry codes, including Ohio Building Code, National Electrical Code, NFPA-72, and NFPA-101, to complete electrical designs.
- Adhere to company drawing and design guidelines while completing layouts, calculations, and system designs.
- Coordinate system design and physical equipment layouts with other disciplines, architects, and building owners.
Qualifications:
- Interest in developing a career in consulting engineering, beginning with AutoCAD drafting and progressing toward system design responsibilities as experience and proficiency grow. This entry-level position emphasizes hands-on learning and mentorship; an Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology degree is optional.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is desired, and experience with Revit and/or BIM a plus.
- Effective communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts to colleagues and clients.
- Knowledge of lighting, communication, and power distribution system design.
- Ability to work collaboratively in team environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with sustainable design and green technologies is a plus.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

- Anticipated Base Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 / yr. Denk Associates welcomes candidates with various levels of experience and education. As such, the offered salary may be determined by various factors, including relevant professional experience, academic credentials, and demonstrated competencies.
