Title: PCB Layout & Design Engineer

Shift: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary: $80,000 per year, dependent on experience

PCB Layout/Design Engineer Role:

Our client is seeking a PCB Layout/Design Engineer to develop, program, and validate innovative, cost-effective products within an approved budget and timeframe. This role exists to collaborate with R&D engineers to design layouts, perform critical testing, and develop embedded controller code for custom PCBs essential for original equipment manufacturing.

PCB Layout/Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative and cost-effective products within defined budget and time constraints
  • Design and layout custom PCBs for use by the OEM in collaboration with R&D Development Engineers
  • Program embedded controllers and microprocessors to ensure hardware and software integration
  • Perform functional testing and validation of PCB prototypes to ensure design integrity
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department and manufacturing vendors to verify PCB pricing and quantities
  • Conduct EMC testing and troubleshoot circuit performance using specialized lab equipment
  • Apply advanced design principles for Analog, Digital, Microprocessor, and FPGA circuits
  • Utilize Altium, Orcad, or similar software to execute complex circuit layouts

PCB Layout/Design Engineer Reporting Relationships:

The candidate reports to the R&D Manager and has no direct reports.

About You:

  • Possess a B.S. or A.A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related STEM field
  • Hold an active IPC Designer Certification (CID or CID+)
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a PCB Designer for an engineering firm
  • Demonstrate proficiency in embedded controller programming and firmware development
  • Show expert-level skill in PCB Design software such as Altium or Orcad
  • Communicate fluently in English in both written and vocal formats
  • Experience using EMC testing equipment and laboratory diagnostic tools
  • Work effectively as a driven team player within a collaborative R&D environment
