Overview:
We are seeking a caring, dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in offering care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. Your main focus will be on aiding clients with daily living tasks, fostering their independence, and ensuring their overall welfare.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene routines and grooming practices
- Implement behavior management strategies as necessary
- Help clients in acquiring life skills and attaining personal objectives
- Prepare and serve meals under dietary requirements and restrictions
- Aid in medication administration by following healthcare professionals' instructions
- Maintain a hygienic and secure living environment for clients
- Organize recreational activities and accompany clients on community outings
- Accurately document client progress, incidents, or observations
Skills:
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities ( will train)
- Knowledge of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Certification in First Aid
- Familiarity with childcare practices
- Understanding of long-term care principles
- Direct support experience
- Background in home care services
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and provide care
