Remote School Based Occupational Therapist
State: Ohio (Fully Remote, supporting K-12 public or charter schools statewide)
Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Full-Time or Part-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver high-quality, student-centered teletherapy services in a virtual school-based setting. The OT will conduct assessments, participate in IEP development, and deliver individualized interventions aligned with students educational goals.
Key Responsibilities

Provide live occupational therapy sessions aligned with each students IEP via secure telehealth platforms.

Conduct developmental and school-based assessments, evaluations, and annual reevaluations.

Design and implement interventions targeting fine/gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, school routines, and adaptive strategies.

Create and monitor treatment plans and document progress in pliance with district and state timelines.

Participate in IEP meetings, consult with school staff and families, and contribute to the multidisciplinary team.

Maintain thorough documentation and clinical notes according to FERPA and HIPAA standards.
Required Qualifications

Active Ohio Occupational Therapist license (or pact privilege) required to provide services to students located in Ohio.

Ohio Department of Education certification or eligibility, as required for school-based positions.

Masters degree or clinical doctorate in occupational therapy from an ACOTE accredited program; NBCOT certification (OTR).

Minimum 12 years of experience delivering school-based OT services preferred, particularly in digital or virtual environments.
Technical Requirements

Reliable high-speed internet, webcam, headset, and distraction free home workspace.

Confidence with teletherapy tools and platformse.g. Zoom, Canvas, occupational therapy-specific platforms.

Ability to securely manage sensitive client information and maintain pliance with state and federal privacy laws.
Preferred Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of educational programming, IEP goal writing, and special education processes in Ohio.

Experience collaborating virtually with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Skilled in adapting therapy to virtual formats using creative, research-based techniques.

Excellent time management, written/verbal munication, and professionalism.
