Current opening for a Dean of Nursing. Our client is a company with approximately 40 plus post-secondary schools nationwide, with over 20 of these locations offering nursing programs. Our programs range from practical nursing to BSN degrees.
Position Description:
The Dean of Nursing is responsible for providing leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing program. The person in this role must facilitate responsiveness by the program, to the needs of the community and the health care system, as well as, foster within the program, an organizational culture that supports collegiality, personal well-being, and professional development of students, faculty, and staff. The Dean also serves as the representative of the program to the College/Campus administration, regulatory and accreditation bodies, Education Affiliates Nursing Division, the local advisory committee, and to other internal and external constituencies.
Requirements
- Current active unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse or APRN in the state of Ohio or multistate privilege to practice nursing in Ohio.
- Doctoral degree in nursing or health-related major preferred; MSN required.
- At least five (5) years of practice experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least two (2) years as a faculty member in a professional nursing education program.
- Minimum of one (1) year of successful experience in an administrative or management role.
- Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to serve as a positive, supportive, and enthusiastic role model.
- Successful completion of criminal background check, drug screening, appropriate immunizations, and CPR and HIPAA certification.
