Engineering Intern (Part-Time)
Schedule: 15–20 hours per week
- Monday–Thursday: 6:00am–4:30pm
- Friday: 6:00am–12:00pm
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Engineering Intern to support our production and engineering teams. In this part-time role, you’ll help update and improve drawings, create job packets, and assist with technical documentation used to manufacture parts and equipment. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in engineering, design, and manufacturing processes.
What You’ll Do
- Create job packets that include mechanical drawings, materials lists, quality documents, workflows, and time-tracking sheets.
- Support the production team during equipment builds to ensure accuracy based on drawings and customer specifications.
- Prepare engineering documentation for laser cutting, bending, machining, welding, and assembly.
- Work with engineering, production, and quality teams to implement project solutions.
- Analyze original equipment drawings and customer prints to create shop-ready documents.
- Discuss design changes and project updates with supervisors, welders, assemblers, and machine operators.
- Present project updates and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
Who We’re Looking For
- Currently enrolled in high school with an interest in engineering, manufacturing, or related technical fields.
- Strong academic performance in STEM subjects such as math, science, or technology courses.
- Demonstrated interest in engineering through coursework, robotics clubs, technical classes, shop courses, or hands-on projects.
- Basic understanding of problem-solving principles and analytical thinking.
- Eager to learn engineering tools, concepts, and documentation practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work safely under supervision.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Comfortable using hand tools, measuring tools, or basic computer software (training provided).
- Ability to maintain focus, stay engaged with assigned tasks, and demonstrate initiative.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
