We are ready to hire an experienced Seasoning Developer to work at our Development Center in Lebanon, Ohio. The Senior Applications Technologist is responsible for the development of products which illustrate the benefit of MANE flavors and technologies and demonstrates their efficacy. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems using well-developed formulating expertise. Develops seasoning formulas to meet complex restrictions. Provide guidance and assistance in sourcing and recommending appropriate resources based on category strategies. Assigned projects are for the largest customers, requiring knowledge of all ingredients and all processes. Interfaces with customers independently, travels for customer work sessions when approved by management. Work is limited to established product categories.
NOTE: We are open to different levels of experience within seasoning development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible to complete the assigned projects in a timely and professional manner, ensuring all project parameters are adhered to, i.e., ingredient restrictions, pricing, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality in the products being produced in respect to the rules of confidentiality, security, and sanitation.
- Develop powder (dry) blends and seasoning solutions based on a complex knowledge of product attributes
- Provides technical expertise in support of customer projects and strategic initiatives
- Provide technical sales support to Account Managers and Marketing as required
- Keep accurate records of all experiments and maintains files on application data
- Participates in taste panels and project evaluations
- Handle special tasks and projects as requested in order to meet company objectives
- Proactively plans daily activities to increase knowledge in bakery applications as well as R&D systems and processes
- Manage the stock of formula ingredients as well as other inventory items needed to maintain ongoing projects
- Independently drives projects
- Solid technical skills i.e., experimental design, process knowledge, competitive intelligence
- Expanding Customer interactions/presentations and handling more complex technical issues
- Consistent with MANE’s environmental commitments, employees will engage in awareness and practical training, relevant to job-related and job-specific roles and responsibilities, in order to adhere to applicable environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a preference in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related technical discipline.
- 9+ years in the industry with BS or 15+ years of experience with H.S. Diploma.
- Experience in food preparation and /or flavor research and development
