Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer with a strong background in Chemical Engineering and proven project management experience. This role will primarily support 13CO distillation operations, focusing on improving productivity, efficiency, and safety. The ideal candidate will take ownership of small to mid-sized capital projects and serve as a key technical resource for plant operations and modifications.
Key Responsibilities

  1. Operations Support
  2. Monitor and support 13CO distillation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and productive performance
  3. Identify and resolve process issues and propose cost-effective, innovative improvements
  4. Partner with plant personnel to develop practical engineering solutions to operations challenges


Project Engineering & Management

  1. Lead and manage capital projects up to approximately $1M
  2. Collaborate with Project Engineering teams on larger-scale initiatives
  3. Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and documentatio
  4. Prepare technical designs, calculations, and specifications based on business needs
  5. Track and report deviations from project timelines or budgets, and manage scope changes


Process Design & Documentation

  1. Maintain plant design and operational files, including all required Process Safety Management (PSM) documentation
  2. Develop and update process design documents such as P&IDs, Material & Energy Balances, and Electrical Classification diagrams
  3. Work with CAD designers or independently prepare process drawings and documentation
  4. Review and verify contractor engineering deliverables for accuracy and compliance


Stakeholder Collaboration

  1. Act as a liaison between plant operations, maintenance, management, and external customers
  2. Interpret codes, policies, and regulatory requirements to inform project design and execution
  3. Present project justifications and technical recommendations to management for approval


Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
  2. 4–9 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment
  3. Strong understanding of distillation processes and continuous improvement practices
  4. Proven project management skills and experience managing budgets, schedules, and deliverables
  5. Proficiency in engineering calculations and documentation


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working in a regulated plant environment with PSM standards
  2. Familiarity with CAD software and engineering modeling tools
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
