This is a highly visible role partnering directly with senior leadership on cutting-edge technology deployments in a complex, regulated environment.

This opportunity is especially compelling for experienced in-house counsel or law firm attorneys advising on technology, data, or healthcare matters who are ready to move closer to the business and influence enterprise-wide strategy.
The OpportunityThis role provides legal and strategic guidance on the procurement, implementation, governance, and risk management of healthcare IT systems and AI-enabled technologies. The position reports to senior legal leadership with a strong partnership and reporting relationship to enterprise technology leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to executive leadership, IT, and procurement teams on the acquisition and deployment of healthcare technologies, including EHR platforms, telehealth solutions, cybersecurity tools, medical devices, and AI-driven systems
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of technology agreements, including SaaS, cloud hosting, data processing agreements, licensing arrangements, and business associate agreements
- Identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, operational, and compliance risks associated with vendor offerings and emerging technologies
- Advise on digital transformation initiatives, innovation strategies, and strategic partnerships with technology providers
- Collaborate closely with IT, information security, and compliance teams on data protection, cybersecurity governance, incident response planning, and breach notification obligations
- Support the development and implementation of enterprise policies related to technology use, data access, remote work, social media, and device management
- Assist in managing disputes or litigation involving technology vendors, data security incidents, and intellectual property matters, working with outside counsel as needed
- Provide education and training to leadership and stakeholders on legal and regulatory considerations impacting health technology and AI adoption
- Support special projects and emerging initiatives as technology and regulatory landscapes evolve
What We’re Looking For

- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical, business-focused guidance
- Collaborative mindset with the confidence to advise senior leaders and technical teams
- Experience working cross-functionally with IT, clinicians, administrators, vendors, and regulators
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to risk management and innovation
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Ohio or eligible for admission
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience advising on healthcare IT, technology, or complex commercial contracts
- Familiarity with data privacy and security laws and healthcare regulatory frameworks
- Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Prior in-house experience is a plus, but not required—law firm attorneys with relevant experience are strongly encouraged to apply
