Job Description

Job DescriptionPosition Summary Responsible for producing, and crafting wood products to build various products.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Use automated machinery, such as computerized numerical control (CNC) machines.
  2. Set up, operate, and tend routers, sanders, planers, and wood-nailing machines.
  3. Cut, shape and smooth wooden parts.
  4. Sand products using sander or sandpaper.
  5. Operate specialized pieces of woodworking machinery.
  6. Complete all stages of woodworking process.
  7. Ensure wood isn’t warped, cracked or swollen.
  8. Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, or other fullers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
  9. Adheres to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions.
  10. Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary. Clean up all equipment
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  12. Maintain a clean & organized workspace.

This position requires the ability to:

  1. Stand, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, walk, reach, and lift and carry up to 40 lbs. on a regular and repetitive basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
  2. Manipulate and utilize manual and power tools.
  3. Read, interpret, understand, carry out, and communicate instructions and correspondence both orally and in writing.
  4. Interpret drawings and diagrams.
  5. Present information to other employees.
  6. Count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measure, common fractions, and decimals.
  7. Analyze and resolve problems in standardized situations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Production environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes and airborne particles; toxic and/or caustic chemicals; extreme heat; vibration; and moderate noise.
