Job DescriptionPosition Summary Responsible for producing, and crafting wood products to build various products.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Use automated machinery, such as computerized numerical control (CNC) machines.
- Set up, operate, and tend routers, sanders, planers, and wood-nailing machines.
- Cut, shape and smooth wooden parts.
- Sand products using sander or sandpaper.
- Operate specialized pieces of woodworking machinery.
- Complete all stages of woodworking process.
- Ensure wood isn’t warped, cracked or swollen.
- Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, or other fullers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
- Adheres to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions.
- Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary. Clean up all equipment
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean & organized workspace.
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, walk, reach, and lift and carry up to 40 lbs. on a regular and repetitive basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Manipulate and utilize manual and power tools.
- Read, interpret, understand, carry out, and communicate instructions and correspondence both orally and in writing.
- Interpret drawings and diagrams.
- Present information to other employees.
- Count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measure, common fractions, and decimals.
- Analyze and resolve problems in standardized situations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Production environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes and airborne particles; toxic and/or caustic chemicals; extreme heat; vibration; and moderate noise.
