Summary
We are looking for a motivated, friendly, and patient STEM Tutor to work with elementary and middle school children in an after-school daycare setting. The ideal candidate will help students develop a love for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through engaging and fun hands-on activities, games, and lessons. The tutor will provide academic support, assist with homework, and encourage curiosity in STEM fields.
Duties
Provide STEM support: Assist students with their homework, focusing on subjects like math, science, engineering, and technology.
Plan and lead engaging activities: Design and facilitate interactive STEM projects and experiments that are age-appropriate and encourage creativity (e.g., simple coding projects, building models, conducting fun science experiments).
Foster a love for STEM: Help children develop an interest in STEM by introducing them to fun, educational games, and activities that spark their curiosity.
Individual and group tutoring: Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to help them understand STEM concepts and improve their academic skills.
Monitor student progress: Track students’ progress in STEM subjects and provide feedback to parents or daycare staff on their development.
Support social and emotional growth: Encourage teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills through group activities, helping children learn how to collaborate and express their ideas.
Create a safe, positive environment: Ensure that the children feel supported, respected, and safe while participating in tutoring and activities.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in a STEM-related field (e.g., Mathematics, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science) preferred.
Experience: Previous experience tutoring, teaching, or working with children in an after-school or daycare setting is a plus.

First Aid and CPR Certification: Helpful, but not required.

Flexible schedule: Available to work after school hours and during some school breaks or holidays.
