We are seeking a DSP (Direct Support Professional) Day Center Job Description to join our team! You will assist in the daily care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them achieve personal goals, develop skills, and participate in community activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist individuals with daily living tasks including personal hygiene, meal preparation, recreational activities, and medication administration.
• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and increasing independence.
• Monitor and document vital signs; follow health and safety protocols.
• Advocate for client rights and help maintain a respectful, inclusive environment.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and family members.
• Lift and transfer clients as needed using safe body mechanics.
• Participate in ongoing training for best practices in developmental disability.

​Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with fewer than four points.
• Clean criminal background (no history of violent crimes, substance abuse, or sexual offenses).
• Must pass drug screening.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Familiarity with client rights, HIPAA, and basic health monitoring procedures.
• Must be physically capable of lifting, kneeling, standing, and performing transfers.
• Excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.

  Preferred Certifications (or willingness to obtain at employee’s expense):

• CPR and First Aid Certification
• DSP Initial Training
• Medication Administration (preferred but not needed)

  Schedule Options​​

• 9am-2pm Monday through Friday

  • Pay: starting at $15.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 25-30 per week
