Lifeguard

Our team is growing! HealthFitness is hiring full-time and part-time Lifeguards at our corporate client sites in Anna, Ohio (25 miles S of Lima) and Marysville, OH (40 miles NW of Columbus). Facility Hours of Operation

Anna, OH: M-F 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Sat 10am -3pm

Marysville, OH: M-F 5am-6pm, Sat 10am-3pm

Key Accountabilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
• Maintain a professional attitude.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification. *Site may be able to provide Red Cross Lifeguard certification training at discounted rate.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.
• Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:

• 500 yard swim.
• Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.
• Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.
• Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.

Compensation: $14-$17/Hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
