Summary:
The Field Customer Service Engineer serves as primary customer contact on technical and service-related problems on a wide range of industrial, robotic and printing equipment. Diagnoses electronic, mechanical, software and system failures, using established procedures provided by our highly rated service training department. This job may include any aspect of field support, including electrical/electronics, hardware, software, PC’s, and networking. Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Determines most cost-effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Primary responsibility will be to install, troubleshoot and repair a variety of industrial products that include, but are not limited to; printing and packaging equipment, cash recycling products, inserting and sorting machines, credit card attaching and processing systems, robotics and any other applicable third-party accessories attached as part of the system. </li>
<li>Schedule and perform regular predictive/preventive maintenance inspections on equipment. </li>
<li>Provide support by managing parts inventory, customer service calls and preventative maintenance schedules.</li>
<li>Foster positive customer relations and a high degree of customer satisfaction by communicating effectively with customers. </li>
<li>Act as a liaison between the customer and other departments/functions of the company.</li>
<li>May need to provide an “on call” level of service up to seven (7) day/week twenty-four (24) hour/day for emergency customer assistance; respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls for service within established response time goals.</li>

Position Summary:&nbsp;The National FSE position (NFSE) is responsible for providing on-site Installation, Preventive, Corrective, and Routine Maintenance for bioMerieux customers on an as-needed basis, utilizing appropriate tools and test equipment. This position requires someone who is a self-starter with the ability to deliver a best-in-class customer experience while working remotely without direct supervision. The ability to travel extensively, a minimum of 80% within the US or about 42 weeks a year in overnight travel may be required. Extended travel may be required due to the large geography being supported with a mixture of flights and driving to accomplish support needs and is balanced through the regional service manager. This position will partner with the Planning team to schedule events up to 30 days in advance although short notice travel is a potential.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Primary Responsibilities:&nbsp;&nbsp;Territory Management:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Respond expediently to all requests for customer needs via professional written and/or verbal communications ensuring all instrument service requests are fulfilled within the assigned geographic territory. The NFSE has a planned itinerary with two to three weeks visibility for proactive customer events, both within or external to the assigned service region.</li>
<li>Works collaboratively with the planner/dispatcher and/or regional manager to build travel itinerary for customers weeks in advance.</li>
<li>Establish communication between local regional members when traveling outside of their assigned territory.</li>

<li>NFSEs are required to travel to our Durham and St. Louis offices for scheduled product trainings. NFSEs are expected to attend approximately six to nine (6-9) weeks of product trainings in one of our offices within the first 12 months of hire. After the first year, attendance at future trainings will be required on an as-needed basis.</li>
<li>NFSE Customer visits are typically planned in advance, but unscheduled travel will also be required. Geographically dispersed territories will have increased overnight travel requirements. National travel may be required as needed.</li>
<li>NFSE are not part of the Weekend or Holiday On-Call schedule and participation is not required.</li>

&nbsp;Administrative Responsibilities:&nbsp;

<li>Accurately complete instrument service work orders and all associated quality assurance checklists for each service event in a timely manner, documenting all activities completed at the customer site as well as any additional actions needed to resolve all customer concerns.</li>

<li>Maintain an accurate calendar of scheduled events, including training classes and vacation, within the designated service management system to reflect available and non-available times.</li>

<li>Maintain and control ready on-hand spare parts inventory at levels compatible with repair activities and department financial objectives.</li>
