Job Description Summary:
***SIGN-ON BONUS: $7500*** External applicants may be eligible for a $7500 sign-on bonus with a one-year work commitment. This includes previously employed applicants who have been gone from the organization longer than 90 days. The Certified First Assistant in Surgery (CFA) provides assistance to the surgeon or group of surgeons during an operative procedure as a first or second assistant providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
Responsibilities And Duties:
Provides assistance to the surgeon providing exposure, hemostasis, and other technical skills. Provides wound exposure through proper use of retractors so surgeon may clearly view operative site. Through use of suction and sponges, provides a dry field of operation to permit optimum vision of tissue, viscera, vessels, etc. Provides hemostasis by use of clamps, cautery, ligation Completes closure of fascia, subcutaneous tissue and skin under the direction of the surgeon Competent in 4-6 service lines, one of which must be advanced orthopedics, soft tissue robotics, complex cardiovascular, or neurosurgery (cranial). Assumes other tasks of a similar nature or level of responsibility when assigned by supervising physician.

Associate's Degree: Surgical TechnologyBLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, CST - Certified Surgical Tech - The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting

<li>2 years as a Surg Tech in an inpatient/OP main OR</li>

<li>Must demonstrate basic critical thinking skills on their introductory team</li>
<li>Will perform primary role independently</li>
<li>Will demonstrate the ability to anticipate surgeon needs and communicates these with staff</li>
<li>Will identify actual or potential emergency situations and intervene safely with assistance and/or supervision</li>
<li>Competent in 4-6 service lines, one of which must be advanced orthopedics, soft tissue robotics,complex CV or neurosurgery (cranial).</li>
