Role Description:
The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC Mill and Haas Lathe machines. This role will train on 1st shift (7:00am-3:30pm) until determined that the individual can be moved to 2nd shift (3:30pm-12:00am).
 
Core Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Set up and operate CNC Machine in a work cell environment.</li>
<li>Make adjustments as required on CNC Machine Control to conform to all quality and print specifications and instructions given with each work order.</li>
<li>Move Store and Load machines with material and associated tooling within or required for the work cell.</li>
<li>Produce samples for engineering or short run production as required.</li>
<li>Feeds metal parts into the machine for a specific bend to be placed in it</li>
<li>Programs the Laser for specifics of part cutting</li>
<li>Loads metal sheets and removes skeletons once cuts are completed</li>
<li>Cleans scrap area</li>
<li>Add coolant into CNC Mill &amp; Lathe machine at beginning of shift</li>
<li>Cuts bars to specifics for job</li>
<li>Loads bars into lathers for cutting</li>
<li>Do safety inspection on Laser Crane daily</li>
<li>Maintain and monitor machine performance as instructed and perform regular scheduled preventive maintenance that is assigned to the operator.</li>
<li>Inspect all work to insure conformance to all specifications.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean safe and efficient department by following 5S lean principles as a daily part of job performance (Sort, Simplify, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) </li>
</ul>
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Understanding of difference in materials used in manufacturing</li>
<li>Willingness to make useful suggestions and grow department</li>
<li>Set up and operate CNC Machine in a work cell environment. </li>
<li>High School Graduate with 2 years CNC machining or laser operation</li>
<li>2 years of experience in operating a CNC Machine desired</li>
<li>Any machining or training school certificates demonstrating proficiency desired </li>
</ul>
Minimum Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Operator will be trained on Argo Seiki Processing Machine. Training will be done on any new equipment such as a future CNC Machine used in machining parts.</li>
<li>Operator must have a good working knowledge of CNC Control operation in order to make necessary adjustments to set up and maintain machines in a safe and efficient manner.</li>
<li>Operator must be qualified to operate material handling equipment such as a lift truck and hoist to move and store materials within or needed for work cell operation. </li>
<li>Operator must be able to read and understand prints and quality specifications and use measuring devices to measure and ensure conformance to specifications.</li>
</ul>
